My list includes good family and friends, shelter, food and warmth on these cold days, and access to good medical care.
But sometimes it’s hard to find the blessings in the midst of the dark places in our lives.
We worry about our family and friends, school, work, health, money, and broken relationships. We wonder how much worse things have to get before they get better. Like Job, we cry out to God to end our suffering.
The good news is we are not alone. We have been promised that God is always with us—especially in the most painful and dark moments. How do we know? We know because of our faith in Jesus Christ, that in his death and resurrection we have life, something that should be at the top of all of our “blessings lists.” We know because of the words of John 1:16: "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."
This Sunday, I invite you to worship with us at Christ the King. 8:30 AM is a traditional service. 9:30 AM and 10:45 AM we welcome 56 youth to lead us in worship with their original musical, “Blessings.” There is also a special performance at 6:00 PM. I had the opportunity to be with the youth on their tour to Chicago last weekend, and I have to tell you, you won’t want to miss it.With Joy,
Come, hear the story of two youth from different backgrounds who meet in a hospital during family illnesses. Even though times are tough, the two realize the blessings they are given. Come, be reminded of God’s promises to you in all of life’s ups and downs. Come, witness and support these incredible youth as they share God’s word through song and drama.
Bring your family and friends. Everyone is welcome. Sunday School kids, join us in worship (there is no Sunday School this week).
