During the months of June and July, we will be collecting new or gently used shoes and summer clothing for the children at Believer Bible Chapel School in Liberia.
Christ the King has given strong support to this school for the past five years. Many of the children are orphans supported by members of Believer Bible Chapel.
Watch for the collection boxes in the narthex!
About Liberian Partners
Liberia, a country in West Africa, suffered under almost constant civil war from 1989 to 2003. It is estimated that over 250,000 people were killed. Today, there is a democratically elected government, but the economy still struggles.
Nearly 43% of the population of about four million is under the age of 14. Believer Bible Chapel, a small Liberian congregation, recognizing that education is the hope for Liberia’s future, has established a school that now serves 135 students 3-13 years old, many of whom are orphans as a result of civil war, AIDs, and Ebola.
Founded in part by Christ the King's members from Liberia, our Liberian Partners Ministry works to support education and growth in Liberia by providing financial support to the school established by Believer Bible Chapel. In the past, CtK members have sent school supplies, clothing, and financial gifts to purchase food and to build a new roof on the school building. This summer, we gathered school supplies like notebooks and pencils that will soon be sent our our partners.
