Pastor Hannah's Blog

By Pastor Hannah

Prayer is an interesting thing, isn't it? It's done in silence and out loud, by individuals and groups, in the most extravagant churches and in the car, by the young and the elderly, in elaborate words and in simple phrases like "Help me" and "Thank you."

Pastor Hannah's Faith Journey

JOHNSON, Pastor Hannah 2.jpg

I grew up in Osceola, WI, in the deep woods along the St. Croix River. My family has been the biggest part of my faith journey and has encouraged a life filled with joy, creativity, and service. Church life has always been a part of who I am, though I believe God is always calling us to think about church in new, imaginative, and relatable ways.

My years at St. Croix ArtBarn, Lake Wapogasset Lutheran Bible Camp, and Gustavus Adolphus College fostered my passion for children, youth, and family ministry, as well as for travel and finding daily adventures. I received my Master's of Divinity (emphasis in children, youth, and family) from Luther Seminary in 2010.

Some of my favorite things include the arts, playing games, the outdoors, ice cream, running, biking, hearing peoples' stories, Netflix, and water (looking at it, being in it, and drinking it).

I began serving at Christ the King in October 2010 as the children, youth, and family pastor. I am blessed to work with a faithful team who believes young people are not the future of the church but an integral part of the present. I believe in the importance of prayer, community building, kindness, and joy--all shared with a sense of humor.
